World Autism Awareness Day

I'm not sure how many people are aware of this but today is World Autism Awareness Day... or that April is Autism Awareness Month. Countries all over the world are trying to spread awareness about Autism today...which I think is an amazing thing. Since I have started working at the ALC I have come to realize how many people know little to nothing about Autism...which affects A LOT of kids.

Did you know that the Center for Disease Control revised its numbers and now says thats 1 in 88 kids have autism. It used to be 1 in 100. 1 in 88 is a lot people.

It's important to spread awareness of this because of the fact that a lot of people aren't familiar with it. Chances are it already affects or will someday affect someone you love and its important to be knowledgeable about it.

I want to share think link with everyone because I think it is awesome how many countries and important monuments and buildings are supporting this cause.

Seriously, take a look at it. It's really cool to see so many places like the Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House and many others light up blue in support of Autism.
