Christmas Recap and Secret Santa

Merry Late Christmas Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I know its been over a week and all but I figured there's not better time to do a Christmas recap than the same day as the Secret Santa link up!

My Christmas is very, very low key. My dad is an only child and half of my mom's family lives in Florida. So on Christmas eve my mom's sister and her family come over and then on Christmas morning we just celebrate the 4 of us. Here are some pictures from Christmas eve...

My family. Don't ask why my sister is awkwardly posed in the back.

My cousins and I.

Christmas was such an amazing day and then that night I feel like things kind of fell apart which is why I went MIA from blogging and responding to emails etc. On Sunday night (aka Christmas night) I received texts from two of my very close friends. One of my best friends and roommates from college sent me a text informing me that her house had burnt down that night. The next morning I woke up to another text from one of my best friends from high school that another one of our good friends dads had died that night. It was almost too much to handle after such an amazing holiday so I felt like I just had to take a step back. If you could just keep my friends and their families in your prayers.

Anyways, back to more happy thoughts! I was so excited to participate in Emily, Crystal, and Ashley's Secret Santa. It proved to be an awesome way to meet new blogging friends! Although you can't really get a good picture of it, I'm wearing the lovely necklace from my secret santa in the pictures above. Laura, from Life of Lu had me for her secret santa and she couldn't have done a more amazing job at choosing my gifts! I am so thankful to have had her and can't wait to get to know her more!
This is the gorgous necklace!

An awesome mini OPI color that turned out to be the perfect NYE nail polish!

What did everyone else get?

  3. Your gifts look amazing! I just posted today about how much I love what you sent me!

Definitely thinking about/praying for your family friends. Those are such hardships, and for some reason (in my experience) hard times at the holidays are always harder. They're lucky to have such a good friend like you!
